How To Start Your Own Photography Blog
It seems like just about everyone has a digital camera these days that can take images of just about anything in a matter of moments. Using digital pictures instead of the traditional film photos is cheap, there is no used paper to end up in the garbage and they take up virtually no physical space at all!
Whether you’re a professional photographer or an amateur shutterbug you’ll still appreciate the ease of digital photography. And what is better than just taking lots of digital photos is the fun way you can share them with others. There are many different ways to share your photos, from electronic picture frames to printing them out to storing them on your PDA.
One of the growing ways to share your photos to others is with a photo blog. A “web log” or blog is a website that allows an writer to publish instant updates onto Internet about just about any topic imaginable. A photo “web log” can feature the digital photos you took on any specific day or trip. You can include comments about your photos and you can tell people about why you took the photos and what was happening when you took them.
To start a photography blog you only need to find some free blogging software and pick a blog name. Most blogging websites are easy to get started with. You simply type your thoughts out in a post, upload your digital photographs from your PC and the blogging software pretty much does the rest. When you are happy with a post you “publish” it and everyone on the planet can instantly view it!
With a photo web log you can not only share your photos with others but you can also allow visitors to write comments on your posts. If you allow comments on your posts then you can also discover what other people like and don’t like about your photos. Getting feedback from visitors to your web log is part of the excitement of putting your images online. If you are a freelance photographer then you might use a website to display your recent portfolio of past photos.
Remember not to worry about always composing a article that’s going to make other people happy. It is your photo blog and you can put up pictures of whatever you like. You can post photos of a local tourist attraction one day and then post photos of some children playing in your back yard the next day. Just try to have a good time with the ability to publish your digital photographs so quickly with your own blog!
